Here at Technolutions, our staff would like to do everything we can to curb the spread of the virus. We, however, completely understand that you are dependent on our support to continue to conduct your business and that we will need to be available.
We have therefore taken the following steps to try and mitigate the spread without interfering with your support needs too much:
- Technolutions admin staff will be working remotely form home where possible. They will still be fully contactable VIA both email and phone. Please send any unattended/urgent account queries to billing@o-it.co.za
- Technical staff will be required to do everything possible to resolve issues remotely and will only be sent onsite if there is no other alternative. Please ensure that any requests for onsite work are detailed and explain the specific reason for requiring an engineer onsite. Log all queries through support@o-it.co.za
- Our specialists will be trying not to go to face to face meetings so will be available for Teams/Skype for any such meetings. Please be understanding with them. The more meetings they go to, the more risk they put themselves at. This may render them ill when you need them most.
- Our engineers will be vigilant and keep their hands clean at all times. Kindly understand that they have also been told not to touch anyone at all. If all you get is a smile and a nod, you know that it’s for your own wellbeing.
- New hardware installs will be completed with gloves on so that equipment is clean and hygienic.
- Staff that use public transport have either been given full paid leave until further notice or financial assistance to use private transport (lift club type systems).
- Full time client onsite engineers will continue to work from client sites as long as the client has agreed to this. These staff members will not be required to check in at our office at all. Meetings, follow-ups and so on will all happen VIA mail and or telephone. They will drive from their homes to the clients and back home.
- Clients have asked about services uptime, should there be an official “shutdown” of some form. Technolutions will keep all services up for paying customers. We have engaged with our upstream providers whom have committed to keep services up. We, of course, cannot ensure that there are no fibre cable breaks or things of that nature however, we can assure you that for now all of our ground teams from suppliers and upstream providers are all still working on repairs and maintenance.
- All staff will try to have less onsite visits and customer interactions. Onsite visits are reserved for business-critical emergencies or important client meetings.
- Staff that are sent out for new installs are sent with surgical gloves that are replaced after each install as well as hand sanitizer to use before and after installs.
- Staff that deal with hotels, guest houses and any other international facing customers will follow the same rule as above, however they do not come to our office. They go to site and stay there for the day and go home or go home after sorting any issue.
- When going onsite, if we use customer keyboards or mice then we have to put on gloves and use hand sanitizer afterwards.
